Workout Notes Week Ending November 25
This was a weird week for many reasons. That said, I RAN for the FIRST TIME since...September 23rd! Two months - zero miles running....plus knee surgery! And its just in time too, as these Monday Wednesday, Friday bike rides on the lifecycle are getting really, really old. Wednesday, I just could not stomach doing an hour on the stupid thing. Plus I had a real stressful day at work. Thursday after my RUN, we drove down to San Antonio for Marissa's soccer tournament. It was raining and 40 degrees and windy the whole weekend. I managed to do 35 min on the stupid recumbent lifecycle at the hotel on Friday, but Saturday there was no way to get in any workouts. Sunday we drove back home and then I hit the gym for a nice 3000 meter swim! :-) Weird Week.

Laying down the law
Mary is full of surprises. Back in September it was the Swim 10000 Meters per week or else challenge. So at today's swim she sez, that for December we will do 3000 Meters per session. Since I have been doing 2500 per session, I am good with the move up to 3000. Then she adds, we will do a 100 Meter Time Trial after each session. I am good with that too. (Does the 100 trial count in the 3000 per session total? It should. Right?) Ahem. AND, (yeah there is no stopping this chick), she said that we are going to do the 1 hour postal swim! That's really cool, as my Panic Buddy has blogged about this in the past, its something that I wanted to do as well. So there you have it. A bit more swimming over December and Jan.

Workout Notes Week Ending November 11
Not a bad week, although I am hating the MWF on the lifecycle. These would be running days. The stationary bike is driving me MAD! Sunday I hit the pool - that's a good change. I'd prefer to be on the road bike, but it did not work out - but the pool was better than going for more miles on the lifecycle. Thursday's swim looks simple enough but it was a killer! Even Tom was dying. Today's swim was also hard on the last 50 my right anterior tibialis cramped. Usually in the pool I get calf cramps. The tibialis was murder! It took me five minutes to get out of the pool and only then did it finally release! Weird.

Workout Notes Week Ending November 4
Terry was down at the librarian conference over the weekend, so any riding had to be done solo. Sunday, I headed down to white rock lake, forgetting that the stupid half marathon was being run. That slowed me down quite a bit, basically from Garland Road to past the paddle boats I was fighting the pack!

On a very sad note, Terry's daughter Jane was hit by a drunk driver while training on Sunday. She spent the following week in the ICU. Thankfully Jane is warrior, but she will have a very long road to recovery. Jane is a special person in the Hughes world, as she was the one that sold me the Cannondale. I can't imagine what my life would be like without that bike.
