Workout Notes 2010 Week 22
I was really dragging on Monday - feeling like too much time in the sun from the 8 soccer games over the weekend plus track, plus bike, plus five months of not missing a workout. Tired. As such I started the week with a really easy swim. Tuesday was the first track meet. I was apprehensive and still not feeling that great. 2:20 or better was the plan. I got in a heat that was 2:15 to 2:30 pace. Two HS boys tool off out of the start and I got on their shoulders for the first lap. There was a headwind on the back stretch, so I was able to draft off of them. I ran wide on the second turn because I figured I would go by these guys on the home stretch. However the boys hung in there until turn three, when I finally went by them. That put me in a lead that did not last very long, as a young lady passed me strong about halfway down the back stretch. I tried to draft off of her as well. She pulled away and finished 2.5 seconds in front of me. That was a good race.

Wednesday, I felt much better in the morning and had a nice 8 miler. Thursday was HOT. I was completely dehydrated after my 10x45 intervals in 94 degree heat. Sheesh. But I was not the only one. Ron and Todd were both splattered from their Thursdays workouts - so we cut the swim short. Saturday it was back to SMU for 1200 and 1000 TTs. The pace suggest 5:15 to 5:20 mile for next Tuesdays Track Meet. Sunday I was up really early for a ride down and around White Rock Lake. The winds were calm and I felt like it was a good effort.
