Workout Notes 2012 Week 7

Two hour run in the rain with NYC Marathon Champ German Silva
Very, Very Strange week.
Monday started with me being depressed about my hand. I felt like I needed to back off the swim and so I did not swim monday, then managed only 500 on Tuesday and then nothing on Wedensday either.
Meanwhile I figured I had better start my hill workouts at Flagpole Hill. I thought that this would be a week earlier than the rest of Robert's group - but they were all there on Monday! That was nice. Hills on Monday and Thursday felt great. As did the nice 8 mile loop on Wednesday.
Ron brought me some amazing Leukotape, which he said would be waterproof. And it was in fact! I did 3600 with the help of the tape and then I left the tape on for two hours running on Saturday and 3 hours on the bike on Sunday!
On Thursday, Brooks sent me an entry into the Rock and Roll Half Marathon in Dallas! That should be fun and interesting.
And Alex invited me to run with 2 time NYC Marathon Champ, German Silva on Saturday. It was raining and we did about 15 miles in 1:55. Very nice run, and German is a genuinely nice guy!
Huge volume week! And as of today my left hand actually feels much better than it did a week ago.

Workout Notes 2012 Week 6

Been wearing one of these all week!
This was a very painful week, after last weeks bike crash. Both the road rash and the wrist hurt like a mutha. The radiologist called on monday and said that my ulna was fractured. I went in and saw Dr. Hanson - he did not see a fracture, but he told me that I had Kienbocks Disease! With Kienbocks the lunate bone of the wrist shrivels up and dies. Lovely.
After my swim on Monday, I decided not to swim on Wednesday, as the wrist pain was too much.
No Pushups, or burpees during circuits this week.
Saturday and Sunday it was in the twenties. In fact they canceled Logan's soccer game due to cold temps. I ran with pants for the first time this winter on Saturday. It was also too cold for biking on sunday, so I hit the gym instead.

Workout Notes 2012 Week 5

The Killer 99 Liverpool Dalglish girls - Xara Winter Cup Champs
Intense.
Big swim on Monday with a solid 8 mile run with Ron in the afternoon. I made up my circuit workout on tuesday, then Wedensday Ron and I did a hard swim in the AM and then a KILLER 8 mile run in Arbor Hills.
Thursday brought spectacular weather so Alex and I decided to a bike ride over lunch. Right at the start Alex crashed into me leaving me with major roadrash and an injured left wrist. The wrist got really bad overnight. Lots of pain and swelling. I was sure it was fractured. Luckily by Saturday the pain subsided!
Now to try to recover.
