Workout Notes 2013 Week 11

Top of the continental divide - Wolf Creek Colorado
Three days of skiing at wolf creek was a blast! Thursday at ODT I knocked out a short run before the 13 hours in the car back home! Friday the legs were not really working and I was not sure what to do on my workout plan. I started thinking 8 miles and then changed the plan to 10. Saturday Ron and Bradon killed me on the bike and then another eight miles running Sunday - one week before the race!

Workout Notes 2013 Week 10

Reagan's last meet of the season and last with Texas Dreams
I had strong intervals this week on Monday and Thursday and a solid 60 min run on Wednesday. Swimming was very good. Saturday was tricky. Got up early and did a short run and then watched Reagan compete her last meet at Zenith in McKinney. When I got home, Marissa and Logan and I packed up our stuff and drove to Amarillo, on the way to Wolf Creek Colorado. That was an exhausting day. Sunday morning I got up early to run but it was HORRIBLY windy (30+MPH) and really cold. I figured maybe I could run when we got to Wolf Creek - but I also knew I would be really tired. When we got to Colorado, our hotel was actually locked up (really small place). I drove up the hill and rented the gear for the girls and waited for what seemed like an hour to buy our tickets. The we ate dinner and then back to the hotel to unload and check in. Finally after all that I got in a short run. I dont know how I had the energy.

Workout Notes 2013 Week 9

I focused on running faster this week - with Fartlek on Monday, Intervals on Thursday, and easy distance runs at 7:30 pace on Wednesday and Saturday. Meanwhile I was strong the bike as well. Over 21 miles on Tuesday on the Trainer, and I knocked 5 seconds off my hill time on Saturday. Sunday it was cold, and I decided to ride with RBM. I got out the road bike to ride with the Roadies but right at light at Bethany I snapped my shift cable. That meant a 10 mile single gear ride into a 20 MPH wind!! Got home and switched to the tribike. Road back out to Allen - found the group nearly right where I left them and then road back in. Interesting. Good Swims as well - Solo most of the week as Ron was in Tuscon.

February Workouts

Reagan Level 8 Beam at HNI
I had taken it easy during January on the running as I headed into Feb as my Achilles was a bit sore. I started Circuits a bit late this year and continued those through Feb. In the middle of Feb Brooks asked me to run the Rock and Roll Half of Dallas on March 24. As a result I spent the last three weeks of Jan ramping up my running. Nearly 40K swimming and over 350 Bike miles was a good accomplishment as well.
